At Age Care Shawnee in Calgary, Alberta, we are seeking a Casual Occupational Therapist. Focus on restoring residents’ independence through tailored therapy programs.
This role involves comprehensive assessments and developing individualized care plans based on each resident's needs. You will evaluate therapy outcomes, track residents' progress, and work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal therapeutic interventions. Your contributions will create a safe, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments to identify challenges faced by residents
• Document and implement individualized therapy plans
• Collaborate with team members for consistent care
• Maintain records of residents' treatment progress
• Potentially supervise and orient employees or volunteers
Requirements:
• Must be a graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy program
• Registered with the Alberta Association of Registered Occupational Therapists
• Experience with MDS or RAI is a plus
• Strong communication skills and empathy required
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
