Casual Recovery Coach

Position: Casual Recovery Coach Opportunities
Serve as a Casual Recovery Coach with Beccarian Correctional Care in Calgary. This role is focused on engaging members in therapeutic recovery programs during evenings and weekends.

At Beccarian Correctional Care, we seek a Recovery Coach to support our Therapeutic Living Units. In this position, you will work collaboratively with individuals who are navigating their recovery, facilitating group sessions, recreational activities, and providing peer support. Your work will emphasize building a supportive community culture and contributing to the rehabilitation process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer ongoing encouragement and care in evening settings

• Participate in therapy and recreational program activities

• Co-facilitate recovery meetings such as AA and SMART Recovery

• Report members' progress to the TLU Lead when necessary

• Aid in crisis situations to ensure a secure environment

Requirements:

• Caregiving or mental health support experience is preferred

• Excellent communication to build relationships with individuals

• Understanding of substance use and mental health challenges

• Compassionate handling of sensitive situations

• Experience with justice-involved populations is a plus
