Kinesiologist

Under general supervision from the Care Manager, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide health coaching, supervised group exercise, education, and self-management support to help clients increase physical activity and adopt healthy lifestyle habits. Services are provided both virtually and in-person at the Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre and Killarney Aquatic & Recreation Centre. The position is eligible to work remotely for up to three workdays per week.
As a Kinesiologist, you may be working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based and client-centred practice. You may be performing assessment of exercise tolerance for the purpose of developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining appropriate exercise prescriptions/programs as well as referring patients (clients, residents) appropriately to other healthcare programs and/or services. You will take a health promotion perspective, providing self-management support and guiding the patient towards achieving improvements in their health and physical functioning by conducting pre-participation evaluations, screening of health status, and outcome measurement tests.
You may be developing, supervising, monitoring and modifying the exercise programs, supervising clients both individually and in a group-focused program, and providing education to clients and their families.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent exercise science degree.
Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist to (CSEP) or the American College of Sports Medicine's Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP).
Required Qualifications:
