As a Procurement Specialist II, you will perform complex purchasing functions consistent with established AHS procurement policies, practices, laws, and trade agreements. You will be responsible for the acquisition of supplies, minor equipment, services or supporting functions within assigned work groups. You will perform the acquisition process primarily for purchases of a transactional nature which includes researching/collating information, preparation of requests for quotations, review of quotations, creation of purchase agreements, and issuance of purchase orders.

Under the direction of the Manager, you will coordinate and monitor assigned team purchasing activities; acts as a source of knowledge by answering questions, providing technical advice, and assisting in the training of staff.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education, minimum undergraduate degree related to business administration. Experience working with a health care organization of significant size, complexity and diversity with a demonstrated working knowledge of corporate culture. Proven record of independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proven record of strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate stakeholder needs both internal to AHS and the supplier community. Demonstrates continuous learning principles to keep pace with emerging business and technological advancements.

Dispute resolution and mediation experience. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Must be detailed oriented, demonstrate analytical capabilities especially with a high proficiency in Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems e.g. Oracle/SAP and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be self-lead and self-motivated. Must be able to work independently and with a group. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project management, process design and/or stakeholder engagement experience within a healthcare organization of significant size and complexity is preferred.
