As a People & Culture Specialist at Shane Homes, you are in the business of connection and making life easier for those around you. We Would Love it if You had These Too:
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist or Business Partner Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree, Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A CPHR designation or working towards one.
  • You've gotten up close and personal with Alberta Job Standards, Human Rights and Labor Laws and can apply your knowledge strategically when making decisions or shaping policy.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers through challenging people scenarios, helping them balance business needs with a human-centered approach that also minimizes risk.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and are confident navigating the grey areas, ensuring fair process, documentation, and resolutions are aligned with best practices and employment law.
  • A high level of attention to detail, especially when it comes to documentation, performance records, and legally sensitive communications – because the little things can have big consequences.
Here’s What Your Day‑To‑Day Could Look Like:
  • Leading interviews and partnering with hiring managers to make thoughtful hiring decisions.
  • Supporting creative sourcing strategies to attract qualified and diverse candidates.
  • Keeping up with industry trends to help enhance our recruitment practices.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for employee questions and support.
  • Assisting with sensitive conversations related to performance or employee concerns.
  • Maintaining and upholding company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating smooth, respectful offboarding activities and related tasks.
  • Conducting exit interviews and reviewing feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assisting with the preparation of HR reports and metrics to support planning and decision‑making.
  • Staying current on HR laws and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by being an active member of our Culture Club committee.
