POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the HR Manager, the HR Business Partner plays a key role in supporting leaders and employees across Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) by aligning people strategies with operational priorities while honouring Tahltan culture and values. Guided by the principle“Build Trust, Build Futures,” this role helps balance business imperatives witha people-centered approach grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, respect for tradition, and contemporary HR practices.

Indigenous-owned business operating in the resource-rich Golden Triangle of northwest British Columbia, the HR Business Partner will support the development of a strong, inclusive workforce that creates meaningful opportunities for Tahltan citizens and employees across the organization.
Working closely with leaders, the HR Business Partner will help foster a workplace culture built on trust, respect, and accountability—integrating Western HR practices with Tahltan values to support both organizational success and community prosperity. Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day HR guidance and coaching to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and workplace best practices.
- Partner with operational leaders to align people strategies with business priorities,supporting workforce effectiveness and organizational growth.
- Partner with leaders to foster a workplace culture grounded in trust, respect,accountability, and inclusion, supporting TNDC’s commitment to Build Trust,Build Futures.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning activities including drafting and updating job descriptions, preparing job postings, screening resumes, coordinating and facilitating interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Contribute to workforce planning initiatives by working with leaders to identify current and future staffing needs, supporting sustainable growth and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate and support the onboarding process by preparing offer letters, managing hiring documentation, facilitating new hire orientations, and ensuring a positive employee onboarding experience.
- Assistin the implementation and continuous improvement of HR programs, policies, and initiatives that align with TNDC’s strategic goals and support organizational growth.
- Support leadership development by coaching managers on performance management, employee engagement, and effective team leadership practices.
- Support employee relations matters by providing guidance, facilitating resolution of workplace concerns, and promoting respectful workplace practices.
- Promote inclusive employment practices and support initiatives that create meaningful employment and development opportunities for Tahltan citizens and local communities.
- Participate in the administration of employee benefits programs and support employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- EnsureHR practices remain compliant with applicable provincial and federal employment legislation, and assist in updating policies and procedures as needed.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of HR communications and initiatives that support employee engagement and organizational culture.
- SupportHR reporting, documentation, and record-keeping to ensure accurate and effective HR operations.
