The BI Developer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help organizations make data-driven decisions and improve their overall performance. They work with various data sources and tools to generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations that aid in understanding business trends and making strategic decisions.

What you’ll do
  • Data Gathering and Integration:
    Collect data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external sources, and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Data Analysis:
    Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Use statistical and data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights.
  • Reporting and Visualization:
    Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to present data in a clear and understandable format for stakeholders.
  • Business Insights:
    Interpret data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making across various departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
  • Data Modeling:
    Develop data models and implement data warehousing solutions to improve data accessibility and usability.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of business strategies and initiatives.
  • Data Governance:
    Ensure data quality, consistency, and security by implementing data governance best practices.
  • Collaboration:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and data engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay updated with industry trends and new BI technologies, and recommend improvements to existing processes and systems.
What you bring
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Business, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Industry experience is an asset but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to dissect complex data and derive meaningful insights
  • Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and data manipulation languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • A solid understanding of business operations and objectives is essential to align data analysis with organizational goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • The ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to a dynamic work environment
  • The capacity to identify and solve complex data-related problems

$82,300 - $102,800 (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
