As a Senior Data Developer
, you will be responsible for the development of new, and the maintenance of existing, data processes that lie at the heart of our organization. You will be joining our Data Services team whose remit is to provide our clients with the highest quality energy data in the industry.

Reporting to the Data Services Manager, this role is pivotal in advancing Geologic's data delivery, client onboarding, and technical support initiatives. It combines technical expertise, second-level client support, and cross-functional collaboration to support product development, client satisfaction, and strategic growth.

How will you spend your day?
  • Lead the development of critical projects, both in terms of operational and product roadmap requirements
  • Work with new and existing data to analyze, model and explain the meaning of data to other members and departments
  • Refine, optimize, and maintain internal data pipelines within distributed Postgre

    SQL, Oracle, and SQL Server environments
  • Troubleshoot operational issues
  • Collaborate with team members to provide data solutions which align with our customers’ needs
  • Mentor junior employees
  • Work closely with our Product Development team to support the data needs of first-party applications, and tools such as Power BI
  • Provide technical input into future Geologic data offerings, exploring new technologies and techniques to enhance data integration
  • Document integration processes, data mappings, and pipeline designs for future reference and knowledge sharing
  • Offer technical support through our customer-facing teams
Ready to Apply? Here’s what we’re looking for:
  • 10+ years of delivering commercial data solutions in a team environment
  • Advanced ETL/ELT skills and experience consolidating data from disparate sources into centralized databases or data warehouses
  • Expertise with Postgre

    SQL, Oracle, and Snowflake
  • Proficient in SQL, C# and Python, with an emphasis on data acquisition and transformation
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and working with new data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, strong inter-personal skills, and a desire to collaborate
  • Proven time management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure to resolve live issues with systems in production
Assets:
  • Experience using Elastic Search, Azure SQL and Databricks
  • Proficient feeding data into end-user applications, such as analytics tools (Power BI, Spotfire) and industry-specific tools
  • Knowledge of Energy Industry data
  • Experience working with the PPDM data model; PPDM CPDA certification is advantageous
  • Familiarity with spatial data and GIS tools
