Position: IT Infrastructure Services 4 - DBA Role

You will be integral to the Database Services team, driving quality service across Alberta’s healthcare technology systems. This full-time, dynamic role requires 10+ years of DBA experience, focusing on supporting Oracle databases while working closely with application and technical teams. Your responsibilities will include backups, monitoring, compliance, and configuration upgrades, all in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee database backups and failovers

• Ensure compliance with security audits

• Conduct data refreshes for testing environments

• Manage security patching and updates

• Provide rotational on-call support and out-of-hours assistance

Requirements:

• Relevant degree or diploma in Computer Science

• Extensive experience as a DBA (10+ years)

• Proficient in UNIX/Linux and SAN storage

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Knowledge of Agile methodology preferred
