Senior DevOps Engineer – AWS​/EKS

Support requirement: Participation in an on-call support rotation may be required

We are seeking an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve AWS infrastructure for a healthcare client. The role focuses on Terraform, Amazon EKS, Amazon RDS, Git Hub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, and infrastructure automation using Python or shell scripting. The engineer will also support production monitoring, incident troubleshooting, security controls, and platform reliability.

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Operate and improve production Amazon EKS environments, including:
  • Cluster and managed node-group administration
  • Kubernetes deployments, services, name spaces, and ingress
  • Autoscaling, upgrades, patching, and workload scheduling
  • RBAC, secrets, network policies, and workload security
• Support Amazon RDS environments, including monitoring, connectivity, backup, recovery, availability, and performance troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational activities using Python and/or shell scripting.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards.
• Troubleshoot AWS, Kubernetes, networking, database connectivity, deployment, and platform issues.
• Apply Dev Sec Ops  practices, including least-privilege access, secrets management, encryption, dependency and container-image scanning, and secure CI/CD controls.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action implementation.
• Work directly with customer stakeholders and development teams to understand requirements and recommend solutions.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation when required, including responding to priority production incidents.

• 5+ years of experience in Dev Ops, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating AWS infrastructure.
• Strong production experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience creating and maintaining Terraform modules and environment configurations.
• Experience supporting Amazon RDS, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD workflows using Git Hub Actions and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, container registries, and container deployment practices.
• Ability to automate operational activities using Python and/or Bash.
• Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, DNS, load balancers, ingress, and private connectivity.
• Experience with monitoring and logging technologies such as Cloud Watch, Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or Open Search/ELK.
• Understanding of cloud security and Dev Sec Ops  practices, including IAM, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, audit logging, and least-privilege access.
• Strong production troubleshooting and incident-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams during Eastern Time business hours.
• Ability to work on-site at the designated Canada office.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation when required.
