Bringing Calgary Public Library's strategic plan to life, the Coordinator, Digital Projects supports and enhances digital marketing platforms and tools, including but not limited to , SharePoint staff intranet, and email management software. The Coordinator, Digital Projects is responsible for supporting digital projects in all stages, creating good user experiences and improving upon existing platforms. This role is also a key bridge between internal departments, working with IT project partners as required.

The Coordinator, Digital Projects contributes to the success of the Library and its impact in the community by participating in a wide range of responsibilities and activities.

Engage with Users

monitoring and responding to requests from Library staff
working positively and productively with other staff
coordinating with subject matter experts to develop, edit, and update content

Shape a Positive User Experience

developing, editing, and updating content on and the SharePoint staff intranet
contributing to communications and ongoing updates about redevelopment projects, including orientation and training, features, and best practices
implementing enhancements and adjustments to the user interface through available platform tools
contributing to the Marketing team's Content Strategy

Create a Welcoming Environment

coordinating change requests and updates to content on the SharePoint staff intranet site, including liaising with IT for any difficulties
contributing to regular maintenance of through content updates
coordinating the scoping, testing, and development of new email marketing software
being knowledgeable and answering inquiries about Library programs, services, and policies, referring as appropriate
being a constructive and collaborative part of the Calgary Public Library team, fully participating in daily operations

Facilitate Capacity Development

working closely with the direct supervisor to facilitate additional workload capacity for digital projects
maintaining an intuitive and comprehensive internal communications system (intranet) that makes information more accessible for all staff
assisting with onboarding new employees, when required

Apply Operational Procedures

applying best practices and following all applicable policies, procedures, and legislation
adhering to all required health and safety precautions and guidelines participating in emergency response procedures and workplace inspections
reporting, physical safety and security issues as appropriate

Completion of:

a post-secondary university degree in Digital Media, Marketing, User Experience Design or related field from an accredited education institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience maintaining and providing web administration for SharePoint or similar content management systems as well as writing and editing content for digital platforms (e.g., websites, email, etc.), or

a post-secondary diploma in Digital Media, Marketing, User Experience Design or related field from an accredited education institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience maintaining and providing web administration for SharePoint or similar content management systems as well as writing and editing content for digital platforms (e.g., websites, email, etc.).

Pre-Employment Screening Requirements

Successfully complete specified technology use tests
Valid Driver's license and insurability under the Library's insurance program may be required based on operational needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated experience with content management sites e.g., Share Point
Demonstrated experience with email marketing tools / software
Knowledge of current User Experience (UX) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and standards
Strong verbal and written communications skills including editing, storytelling, and proofreading
A strong sense of urgency - works quickly, meets deadlines, and collaborates with team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Ability to work in a confidential environment
Ability to work independently and in a team, with people from all backgrounds, abilities, and age groups
