The Role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-time Business Systems Analyst II to join our dynamic Blood Management Solutions team in our Digital Solutions and Technology division.

The Blood Management Solutions team operates in a fast-paced and engaging environment, providing strategic business analysis, process development, and technology solutions to address the national needs of Canadian Blood Services.

In this role, you will support the business-critical software solutions and technologies used to manage blood and blood products. You will work closely with business, quality, and regulatory stakeholders to support requirements and design for enterprise blood management solutions, such as ePROGESA, contribute to the software lifecycle, and help ensure our solutions continue to meet business and operational needs. You will also support the management of donor and customer information that is essential to our operations.

Formula for success

Drawing on your skills and experience as a business systems analyst, you will engage with key business stakeholders to discuss and evaluate proposed changes, conduct analysis, and gather requirements.

Leveraging your knowledge and expertise in blood management processes and solutions, you will perform the design, development, and configuration of strategic business enhancements and changes to blood management systems.

Employing your expertise in software testing and technical writing, you will perform system validation and develop documentation to support system design, development, and change execution.

Acting as a representative for the Blood Management Solutions team, you will work with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs personnel to effectively communicate changes and impacts to regulated blood management solutions and ensure continued regulatory compliance.

Using your expertise in systems lifecycle management, you will participate in project management and software release planning activities to support the timely delivery of effective changes that meet business needs.

Leveraging your communication and engagement skills, you will serve as a contact for IT stakeholders and software vendors to coordinate technical enhancements, software fixes, maintenance, and overall system lifecycle management activities.

Desired Education And Skills

Post secondary level education in a relevant discipline (preferably Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration) or an equivalent combination of education and experience as a Business Systems Analyst.

5 or more years of experience in a role involving business analysis, process development, and software life-cycle management.

Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business end-users.

Deep understanding of requirements gathering functional design, solution development, testing and validation within a regulated environment.

Experience working in a biologics manufacturing, healthcare or laboratory environment is a significant asset.

Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering high-quality functional initiatives under defined timelines.

What You Can Expect
