Position: Estimator for Mechanical Projects - Whaler
Join Whaler Industrial Contracting as an Industrial Mechanical Estimator in Calgary, Alberta. You’ll focus on constructing accurate estimates for mechanical projects in the challenging oil and gas sector.

This role demands a keen eye for detail as you prepare comprehensive bids and proposals while closely reviewing technical specifications and project drawings. Collaborating with project management and operations, you'll ensure that all estimates are aligned with client expectations and market realities. Your insights will be critical in safeguarding the company's reputation for high standards in project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects

• Review and interpret bid documents, mechanical layouts, and specifications

• Perform quantity takeoffs for all mechanical scopes

• Engage with suppliers for pricing assessments

• Monitor market trends to adjust estimates accordingly

Requirements:

• 3-7+ years in mechanical estimating, preferably in oil and gas

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification

• Practical experience in mechanical construction as an asset

• Proficient in Excel and estimating software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
