Position: General Adjuster (Field)
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be a General Claims Adjuster and will be working on a hybrid work setup in Calgary, Alberta. They will be actively involved in evaluating large loss claims with a focus on property (commercial, transportation, and condo) claims through loss investigation and be responsible for negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes experts’ reportsSelects and directs independent expertsIdentifies and pursues subrogation opportunitiesSecures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgetsDetailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systemsMaintains accurate expense accountsWork with manager to maintain client relationAbility to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulatorsRequirements
5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims, transportation and condo lossesIdeal candidate will have a construction and property background specializing in project management, quantification and appraisalCommercial policy interpretation and experience in making recommendations to the marketHas an active adjuster license or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designationReliable transportation requiredValid driver's license is requiredRegular travel to loss sites is requiredStrong report writing skillsMust be a team player with outstanding customer service skillsWillingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growthAdditional Information
