The Accident Benefit Claims Service Representative contacts clients and services minor medical claims.
How you will create impact:- Prioritize and assign Accident Benefit claims as required.
- Telephone contact with clients, other insurers for priority, employers for collateral benefits and service providers.
- Contribute to a client service culture by embedding client engagement philosophies into daily work and implementing innovative, client-centric decision making, to be THE industry leader in client engagement.
- Provide quality client service in accordance with claims service standards.
- Handle minor medical claims.
- Prepare and send out letters and Accident Benefit packages.
- Set up and maintain files for assigned claims.
- Authorize payments and reserves up to $15,000.
- You influence change and are committed to continuous improvement, in order to exceed client expectations.
- You leverage critical thinking skills to identify problems and proactively propose solutions.
- Your strong communication skills allow you to clearly convey messages.
- You’re an effective team player who shares knowledge to support your peers.
- One (1) year related work experience or equivalent in education.
- Working towards completion of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses.
- University/College Degree.
- You will travel occasionally.
- Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required during peak periods and major events.
- You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.

Salary information
Expected Salary range $43,550.00 to $72.583.00 CAD
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
