SENIOR COMMERCIAL UNDERWRITER – Construction

THE POSITION

Reviews applications and financial requirements for risks requiring complex underwriting skills

Determines acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards

Prepares quotes and answers questions from brokers, policyholders or external contacts

Analyzes quality, quantity, and profitability of risks underwritten and prepares reports for management review

Markets products and services through the brokerage community and makes field visits

Keeps current on provincial and federal issues and regulations, industry activity and trends

MUST HAVES

University degree; CIP or FCIP designation

Strong presentation skills for groups of varying sizes

Proficient risk management solutions provider

Able to work both independently and within a team

Professional approach with a keen business sense of client’s needs

Demonstrated high level of technical expertise and product specific knowledge
