Position: Fire and Explosion Forensic Engineering Role
Pursue an exciting opportunity with Intact as a Forensic Engineer specializing in fire and explosion cases. Based in Calgary or Edmonton, you’ll lead investigations to ascertain loss causes and enhance claims outcomes.

Your role involves utilizing scientific methods to understand damage origins and documenting your findings comprehensively. Partnering with our Claims Department, you will engage with policyholders and provide expert opinions on incidents, contributing to a better claims experience. This pivotal role is crucial to our efforts to improve investigations and control claims management effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external adjusters on investigations

• Meet policyholders to assess loss circumstances

• Document damage sites and express professional opinions

• Take part in analyzing specimens related to claims

• Record and manage evidence for future reference

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 10 years forensic experience

• Strong understanding of fire propagation and construction

• Ability to express findings both orally and in writing

• Licensure or eligibility with a provincial Engineering Association

• Relevant certifications (CFI, CFEI, etc.) are preferred
