Team Lead, Personal Lines & Small Business Commercial Insurance
Our client is seeking a Team Lead, Personal Lines & Small Business Commercial Insurance to join their Calgary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong insurance professional who enjoys combining hands‑on technical expertise with day‑to‑day team leadership.
In this role, you will lead a growing group of advisors, provide guidance on complex files and client situations, and help create a high‑performing, service‑focused environment. This position is well suited to someone who can coach and support others while also being seen as a go‑to insurance expert.
You will play an important role in helping advisors build confidence, strengthen client relationships, and deliver consistent, professional service. The team is expected to grow to approximately 15 people over time, although not all direct reports may transition under this role immediately. This is a full‑time, in‑office position based in Calgary.

About YouYou are an experienced insurance professional with a strong background in personal lines and small business coverage. You are comfortable leading from the front, supporting advisors in real time, and stepping into complex client situations when needed.
You know how to balance technical accuracy, team support, and service expectations in a fast‑paced environment. You build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and enjoy helping others succeed.
Whether you have formal team lead experience or have been the senior go‑to person on a team, you bring a coaching mindset, sound judgment, and the credibility to support both staff and clients with confidence.
Necessary Qualifications Include- Level 2 General Insurance License
- 2–5+ years of relevant insurance experience in personal lines and/or small business insurance
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supporting insurance advisors
- Strong personal lines and small business insurance knowledge
- Ability to manage complex client situations and support escalated files
- Strong knowledge of broker management systems such as EPIC
- Completion of, or progress toward, a CAIB or CIP designation considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment
- Proficiency with Windows‑based systems and standard office technology
