This is a primarily onsite position, with an expectation to work from the office 4 days per week. Target start date for this role is September 2026.About the Role Reporting to a Team Manager, the Senior, Accident Benefits Claims Advisor plays a key role in supporting clients through some of their most challenging  this role, you will:

Assess, investigate, and manage complex Accident Benefits claims

Support clients through recovery by ensuring access to the right benefits and treatment

Work closely with medical stakeholders, legal partners, and internal teams

Apply judgement and technical expertise across medical, legal, and insurance frameworks to drive fair and timely claim outcomes

This role is ideal for:
Experienced Accident Benefits Claims Advisors / Adjusters Healthcare professionals (e.g., Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Rehabilitation Specialists) looking to transition into a corporate insurance career Legal professionals (e.g., paralegals, legal assistants, litigation support) with exposure to personal injury or insurance environments

What You’ll DoManage a portfolio of complex AB claims (Non-MIG / Non-CAT)
Conduct detailed claim investigations and determine entitlement under SABSInterpret medical documentation and collaborate with healthcare providers

Apply a total cost management approach , including reserving and file strategy

Handle exposures such as:

Priority of payment

Loss transferWSIBInterpret and apply legislation, policy wording, and legal frameworks in claim decisions

Support clients through recovery and return-to-function outcomes

Negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve claims

What We’re Looking For Insurance Background3+ years of Accident Benefits claims experience

Strong knowledge of:

SABSNon-MIG / Non-CAT files

Loss transfer / reserving

Experience handling files with moderate to high complexity

Healthcare Background (Career Transition)
Background in:

Nursing (RN)
Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy Kinesiology Rehabilitation  / clinical roles

Strong understanding of:

Injury recovery

Functional assessments

Medical documentation

Prior insurance experience is not required — training will be provided.

Legal Background Background in:

Paralegal or legal assistant roles

Litigation support (personal injury, insurance defense, or accident benefits)
Experience or exposure to:

Accident Benefits, personal injury, or insurance-related claims

Reviewing legal documentation, case files, or medical-legal reports

Strong ability to interpret:

Legislation (SABS), policy language, and legal correspondence

Prior claims experience is an asset but not required — training will be provided.
