As the Senior Corporate Specialist, Property Appraisal you will provide direction and support with respect to technical building appraisal expertise in the Property Discipline. You will contribute to the development of property appraisal practices and procedures, technical training, resources and partnering with our stakeholders. You will monitor results, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions to address opportunities and challenges within the discipline.
You will work collaboratively with claims peers and leaders to deliver on objectives and client service expectations for their discipline.
- Ensuring the maintenance, storage and updating of corporate property appraisal resources and tools, including standards, bulletins, processes, along with the responsibility to communicate the changes and updates.
- Contributing to the development of property procedures, practices, processes, actions and planning to ensure discipline benchmarks and goals are met including the successful implementation of strategic goals, new technology and system enhancements.
- Working closely with claims analytics, portfolio, claims vendor management and the discipline to proactively identify and monitor trends and issues within the discipline, developing, communicating and effectively implementing recommendations.
- Participating in the development of KPIs for discipline and in setting performance objectives, using dashboards and self-service analytics tools to understand and support the property appraisal department.
- Supporting the development and delivery of discipline related technical claims training, resources, and communication with Property Portfolio, Claims Learning and Operational colleagues.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, vendor partners, and claims leaders to resolve challenges, enhance service delivery, optimize claims performance, communicate appraisal strategies, and build strong industry relationships in support of business objectives.
- Supporting discipline-specific and cross-functional projects by providing subject matter expertise, conducting research, assessing risks and impacts, developing solutions, fostering stakeholder collaboration, managing issues and opportunities, identifying project interdependencies, and contributing to successful project outcomes and team engagement.
- You have 6-9 years in a combination of property construction, estimating, restoration, claims handling experience or equivalent, or related field.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree, Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) education or a related discipline.
- You have or are working towards the Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP).
- You possess digital fluency and curiosity in exploring existing, emerging technologies and industry trends with the ability to interpret and communicate complex technical content. You have knowledge of KPIs and other performance indicators for Property Appraisal and their influence on the greater Property Claims discipline.
