Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees may also be eligible for performance-based case incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
The Bond & Specialty Insurance (B&SI) group at Travelers provides a broad array of competitive management liability, professional liability and surety products and coverages to businesses of all sizes. This Account Executive (AE), Bond & SI role will partner with brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business based on customers' needs. As an AE, you are decisive, detail-oriented, and have the ability to build relationships internally and externally to drive results.
Your ability to assess risk and promote our products will contribute to the profitability and success of Travelers.
What Will You Do?
Responsible for the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business through thorough knowledge and understanding of Travelers risk appetite to make appropriate decisions within own underwriting authority.Underwrite and skillfully negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.Develop and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.Develop, foster and maintain relationships with external partners by regularly meeting with brokers to market and promote Travelers products, leveraging a full range of product knowledge, with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite.Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.Effectively develop and execute sales plans to ensure retention and new business targets are met.Perform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related disciplineThree to five years of finance-related experience or management liability, professional liability and/or surety underwriting experienceKnowledge of management liability, professional liability and/or surety products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance marketRelevant experience interacting with brokersAssociateship of Canadian Surety Bonding designationStrong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze financial statements and client’s operational historyStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, marketing or financial challenges and analyze available information to make timely decisions in alignment with our risk appetiteCommunication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate with brokersWhat is a Must Have?
Two years of finance-related experience or relevant insurance or underwriting experienceValid driver’s license or alternative means of transportationTravel 10-25% of timeWhat Is in It for You?
