This position offers a critical role in advising commanding officers on legal issues, representing the military in court, and engaging in international treaty negotiations. You'll work closely with the Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) to advance military justice and train personnel in legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise commanders on military and operational legal matters
• Represent the CAF at Court Martial and appeal proceedings
• Facilitate training on military law and justice
• Engage in international negotiations on behalf of Canada
• Address legal issues impacting military operations
Requirements:
• Member of the Bar in a Canadian province or territory
• Relevant legal experience post-law school graduation
• Completion of basic military training for officers
• Understanding of military law and administration
• Ready to uphold legal standards within the CAF
