Case Manager, eDiscovery & Litigation Support
Purpose of the role:The Case Manager serves as the primary operational lead for assigned litigation and eDiscovery matters, providing end-to-end operational leadership of electronic discovery and litigation support workflows under lawyer supervision. Working collaboratively with lawyers, clients, external service providers, and a team of litigation support professionals, the Case Manager applies legal, technical, and project management expertise to support complex matters, optimize workflows, and deliver efficient, high-quality client service.
Operating at the intersection of law, technology, and data, the Case Manager leverages eDiscovery analytics, AI-enabled technologies, and industry best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency of review and analysis processes while maintaining appropriate legal oversight, quality controls, confidentiality, and professional standards.
Reports To:Director, AI Enablement & Litigation Support
Project & Client Management Responsibilities:- Build and maintain strong working relationships with lawyers, clients and external service providers through proactive communication and responsive service delivery;
- Develop andmaintainmatter plans, project-specific protocols,budgets and technical recommendations proportionate to the matter’s scope, risk,timelinesandobjectives;
- Coordinate internal resources and external vendors, including workflow setup, data exchanges, service delivery, issueresolutionand confirmation of responsibilities;
- Maintain defensible documentation of key instructions, workflow decisions, collection and processing activities, quality-control measures,issuesand resolutions;
- Maintainaccurateandtimelytime entries; track matter costs, vendorchargesand hosting costs; monitor performance against approved budgets; and communicate material variances promptly;
- Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities to improve templates, workflows, quality controls, training materials and repeatable processes; and,
- Respond to urgent and time sensitive requests and participate in occasional after-hours support requirements arising form court deadlines, productions other time-sensitive litigation matters.
- Coordinate defensible preservation and collection activities, including legal-hold support, custodian interviews, collection planning, custodian data, sourcedocumentationand chain-of-custody records;
- Support lawyers with document searching,retrieval,reporting and evidentiary analysis;
- Conduct document review, including relevance assessments,privilege identification and redaction support, with final legal and privilege decisions remaining the responsibility of the supervising lawyers;
- Prepare documents for production, including coding, consistency checks, quality control,reporting and production exports;
- Manage transcripts, including issue coding, electroniclinkingandassistancewith transcript summaries;
- Create andmaintainchronologies, issue codes, undertaking trackers, exhibitlistsand hearing binders, including electronic hearing materials;

- Support legal strategy, trial preparation and witness preparation as directed by the responsible lawyers; and,
- Provide guidance, mentoring and workflow support to team members and contribute to cross-training and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Litigation Support team.
