As a key member of FWS’s leadership team, you will manage all legal functions, providing strategic advice to the President & CEO and senior management. The role encompasses a broad array of responsibilities, from overseeing corporate governance to managing disputes and compliance. Ideal candidates are seasoned legal experts who enjoy mentoring junior talent and developing trusted relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee legal functions and strategic legal advice
• Manage corporate governance and compliance issues
• Draft, negotiate, and review crucial legal documents
• Handle litigation and dispute resolution processes
• Mentor junior Legal Counsel and manage external legal teams
Requirements:
• Law degree and membership in good standing in Manitoba or Alberta
• 10+ years of corporate legal experience
• Strong understanding of construction law preferred
• Proven ability to advise corporate leaders
• Collaborative mindset with excellent negotiation skills
