Associate Lawyer, Litigation Practice

Carscallen LLP is seeking an Associate to join our Litigation group. The successful candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate and commercial litigation matters. • Managing a caseload of corporate and commercial litigation files, including shareholder, contractual and commercial disputes, from inception through resolution.
• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, briefs and other court materials, and conducting legal research.
• Preparing for and conducting questioning, chambers applications, mediations and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Advising clients directly on litigation strategy, risk and resolution options.

A litigation lawyer with:

• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
• 3 to 6 years of litigation experience in private practice in Canada, with a focus on corporate and commercial litigation matters. Candidates with additional areas of focus, including employment, construction and family law litigation, are encouraged to apply.
• Experience appearing before the courts of Alberta and managing files with a degree of independence.
• Strong advocacy, research, writing and client communication skills.
