Job DescriptionThe role of expeditor is a key member of the Supply Chain, responsible for monitoring supplier performance and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment in support of project schedules. This role includes expediting activities from pre-award through closeout.
- Monitor supplier progress for complex engineered equipment and large bulk commodity orders against contractual delivery milestones and manufacturing schedules
- Track supplier performance and identify potential delivery risks or schedule impacts and develop and implement recovery plans when required
- Manage and coordinate third‑party expeditors when assigned
- Proactively communicate anticipated delays to Supply Chain, Project and Client management
- Coordinate resolution of overages, shortages, and damages (OSD) with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Review project requirements and develop discipline‑specific staffing plan for review
- Provide guidance and support to junior supply chain team members as required
- Participate in weekly expediting meetings to align expectations and schedules
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date expediting status and reports using approved material management ERP system
- Have a strong understanding of supplier manufacturing processes, delivery risk, and contract‑driven milestones
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
- May need to travel to attend to business related matters
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Accredited four‑year degree or global equivalent applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work‑related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non‑degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write and speak)
- Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
- Experience primarily in the area of material management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs
- Good leadership and decision‑making skills
