Purpose

We are recruiting a Senior Buyer/Expeditor. This full‑time position is based in Calgary, Alberta. The role provides a professional expediting service for EPCM projects, maximizing resource utilization while ensuring operational effectiveness. The incumbent will comply with purchasing policies and procedures and act within the limits of delegated authority.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Project Procurement Manager.
  • Planned, organizes and coordinates buying and expediting work.
  • Adheres to Worley and Client policies and procedures.
  • Interfaces with project and supplier personnel to resolve delivery problems.
  • Creates and issues RFQ, CBE & PO’s, including commercial terms and conditions.
  • Evaluates supplier performance related to deliveries.
  • Ensures on‑time delivery of vendor‑supplied equipment and documentation after PO placement.
  • Makes regular contact with suppliers to obtain reliable information on materials, drawings and documentation status.
  • Contributes to project progress measurement reports as required.
  • Traces shipments from departure to arrival to avoid transportation delays.
  • Analyzes and resolves project‑specific issues related to expediting or buying activities.
  • Secures and validates information that supports timely invoicing for payment.
  • Demonstrates dedication to safety and performance management across the business unit.
  • Builds and sustains outstanding customer relationships.
  • Communicates openly and honestly in all situations.
  • Ensures quality of workmanship over which they have direct control or input.
  • Uses independent judgment in selecting, classifying, compiling and analyzing data from various sources; recommends improvements.
  • Works under general supervision; performance reviewed periodically to ensure conformity to objectives.
  • Assists in training junior staff by guiding on work methods and procedures.
What You Will Bring – Technical and Industry Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience buying and expediting engineered equipment in an engineering environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain workplace relationships.
  • Proficient in computers and common business software, especially database tools that track, monitor and report movement of items.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required: A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience, 3+ years leading teams. SCMP designation preferred.
