One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) to support capital and maintenance projects on a 1-year contract based in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.
Overview:
The CCS will be responsible for sourcing and administering executed contractual arrangements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitating resolution of contract-related matters. This role involves close collaboration with contractors and internal teams including legal, project management, construction, procurement, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer contracts in alignment with project execution strategies.
- Prepare purchase orders, work releases, and contract exhibits.
- Draft and review technical contract language and scope documents.
- Support contract negotiations and ensure contractor clarifications are incorporated.
- Coordinate project-specific communication plans and training.
- Monitor contractor compliance and manage documentation logs.
- Oversee change order processes and invoice reviews.
- Facilitate contract-related meetings and maintain records.
- Support contract close-out and compliance audits.
- Provide regular updates and collaborate with SCM leadership.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, legal, technical, or business discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience;
- OR Associate’s degree with 7–10 years of experience in contract administration, preferably in the energy sector.
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Experience with contract negotiation and administration in construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and Oracle.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems proactively.
- Familiarity with energy industry contracting practices.
Work Conditions:
- Based at a company office within the assigned project.
- Minimal travel may be required.
