The position:
Trail Appliances is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep of our building and showroom.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving small maintenance issues, and helping keep a facility running smoothly. The position supports the Facilities Manager with general maintenance, minor repairs, and facility support tasks that keep our workplace safe, clean, and functional for both employees and customers.
Compensation:
$19/hr - $20/hr

What you’ll be doing:
- Monitor building conditions to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment and address minor maintenance issues as they arise.
- Assist with moving appliances and placing them in showroom displays.
- Support basic appliance installs or disconnections under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
- Respond to maintenance requests and complete scheduled facility tasks.
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the property, including parking areas and seasonal upkeep such as snow removal.
- Assist with custodial duties, room setups, furniture moves, and merchandising appliances in the showroom.
- Manage shipping and receiving of maintenance supplies.
- Assist with coordinating external trades and contractors, including site orientations and basic project support when required.
What you need to be successful:
- Comfortable using basic hand tools, ladders, and working with mechanical components.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance and custodial needs.
- Physically capable of lifting, moving appliances, and performing hands-on maintenance tasks.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Availability:
This is a full-time position and will require you to be available:
Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm
