Chief Engineer

We are hiring a Chief Engineer!

At the Dorian, Autograph Collection Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Downtown and the Element by Westin Calgary Downtown, we offer three unique experiences, and one team of hospitality professionals dedicated to being the best in class in everything we do.

• Consistently provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike, setting a shining example for our team.
• Educate and lead all Engineering associates on emergency procedures, key control, safety, and life safety precautions.
• Train, motivate and develop all Engineering associates, whilst maintaining a positive work environment for all.
• Maintain a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders, prioritized to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain all building operating systems, including but not limited to fire, life & safety systems, HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, hotel lock system, CCTV systems, guest room appliances, as well as ensuring the hotel grounds, curb appeal and building exteriors are well-maintained all season.
• Ensure implementation and compliance of all brand standard key control policies and procedures.
• Establish department communication and information systems through all forms of communication across all departments, including logs, department meetings and Human Resources policies for the Engineering associates.

• A seasoned professional with a minimum of five years’ experience leading a large Engineering team responsible for maintaining a comprehensive large downtown building.
• 4th Class Power Engineer certification.
• Outstanding work ethic, with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, whilst maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance.
• Solid leadership skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team.
• Exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.
• Agile, able to shift priorities as needed, including handling emergency situations that may occur outside of typical work hours.
• Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more, with assistance.
