General Maintenance Specialist Zoo

Become a General Maintenance Specialist with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and ensure a welcoming environment for wildlife and guests. This full-time role focuses on maintenance across the zoo's facilities.

As a permanent employee, you will leverage your five years of experience in building maintenance to perform preventive and corrective repairs on zoo structures, focusing on functionality and safety. Collaborating with various team members will also be essential in addressing maintenance needs and enhancing visitor experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute general repairs including concrete work and painting

• Conduct daily maintenance tasks efficiently

• Develop solutions for internal maintenance issues

• Assist in animal transfers during operational requirements

• Complete work orders and reports in CMMS

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

• High School Diploma necessary

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license required

• Familiarity with woodworking tools essential

• Strong customer service focus and teamwork
