YW Custodian Position

Become a Custodian at YW Calgary, where you'll help maintain clean and safe spaces for our community in Calgary, Alberta. This crucial role combines janitorial tasks with basic maintenance to uphold high standards of facility hygiene.

The Custodian will work Monday to Friday in a collaborative team environment. Key duties involve regular cleaning activities, operating cleaning machinery, and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety standards. Effective communication and a proactive attitude are essential for contributing to a supportive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks

• Identify safety hazards and report them promptly

• Properly use PPE and cleaning supplies

• Maintain janitorial equipment in working order

• Participate in team training and discussions

Requirements:

• Effective verbal and written English skills

• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals

• Current WHMIS certification needed

• Complete First Aid training within 3 to 6 months

• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team
