Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Facilities Position Overview

The Maintenance position inspects the facility for equipment, furnishings or other areas that are in need of repair. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Ensure public areas are maintained.
• Complete maintenance repairs and replacement of items as required.
• Complete repairs to ensure facilities, furnishings and equipment are in good repair and in good working order.
• Provide maintenance or repairs for exterior and grounds, including repair in parking lots, signage, painting, maintenance for equipment (e.g. snowblowers, lawn mower etc.), gardening, and assisting with snow/ice removal.
• Ensure that work is done to regulations, standards and/or policies of the casino.

• Experience in maintenance and applicable training.
• Professional knowledge or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, water treatment and landscaping (preferred).
• Experience in managing and directing the work of others.
• Good client service skills.
• Able to work independently, with minimal direction.
• Good English communication skills.
• Valid WHMIS certificate, familiar with Health & Safety, fire and building codes.

• Must be physically capable of walking or standing for long periods, some lifting, bending or other physical activities to complete work is required.
• Available on call or after hours, on occasion.
