As our Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play an important hands‑on role in keeping our hostel, guest facilities, and staff accommodations safe, functional, welcoming, and well maintained.
You’ll oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance of both the interior and exterior of the property while providing direction and support to the Maintenance team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing hands‑on maintenance and repairs throughout the hostel and staff accommodations
- Providing direction and support to Maintenance staff
- Ensuring health and safety regulations and HI Canada policies and procedures are followed
- Troubleshooting maintenance issues and finding practical solutions
- Coordinating with external contractors and trades when required
- Working closely with other hostel departments to ensure guest and operational needs are met
- Helping ensure our accommodations and services meet HI Canada standards
- Other duties as required
We’re looking for someone who is
hands‑on, practical, resourceful, and enjoys solving problems
.
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience safely and responsibly operating power tools
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
- A valid driver's licence
