Join The Salvation Army as a Sanitation Specialist, providing vital cleaning services at a men’s residential shelter. This role focuses on delivering exceptional cleanliness and sanitation standards.
As a Custodian, you will handle various cleaning tasks, ensuring the shelter remains healthy and comfortable for all residents. You will perform extensive cleaning and maintenance while adhering to safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work unsupervised are key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform cleaning and sanitization of offices, washrooms, and common areas
• Manage janitorial supplies and inventory tracking
• Spot clean carpets and perform light maintenance
• Handle garbage disposal and hazardous materials with care
• Attend training and safety meetings as required
Requirements:
• Completion of High School or equivalent
• Minimum three months of cleaning experience
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
• Capacity to lift items up to 50 lbs
