Keep Calgary Public Library facilities clean and welcoming through restroom care, floor cleaning, waste removal, and safety-focused work. This Casual Labourer assignment supports positive member experiences.
The Casual Labourer provides light-duty cleaning services across designated Library spaces. You will maintain sanitized environments, report defective equipment and supply needs, and follow applicable policies, procedures, legislation, and health and safety guidelines. The position also involves working independently and collaboratively with people across backgrounds, abilities, and age groups.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform restroom, floor, glass, window, and spot cleaning
- Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclable materials
- Safely dispose of hazardous waste
- Report washroom, department, supply, and safety concerns
- Participate in workplace inspections and emergency procedures
- Minimum Grade 8 completion
- Basic cleaning techniques and processes knowledge
- Basic technology skills as defined by Human Resources
- Ability to work independently and within diverse teams
- Successful completion of required screening tests
