Heavy-duty cleaning expertise supports safe, orderly buildings as a Custodian or Janitor at Bow Valley College in Calgary. Experience with floor care is central.
This Custodian or Janitor role maintains assigned areas using approved materials and equipment. The work includes sanitizing surfaces, removing rubbish, and completing heavy cleaning duties. It supports clean environments for patients, visitors, and staff while following infection control plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and dispose of trash using approved procedures
- Dust and damp mop floors according to procedures
- Move equipment and furniture for thorough cleaning
- Sanitize surfaces, walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards
- Strip, scrub, buff, refinish floors, and shampoo carpets
- Three years of heavy-duty cleaning experience
- Ability to use assigned cleaning materials and equipment
- Ability to follow infection control plans
- Ability to complete supervisor-assigned cleaning tasks
- Initiative to identify areas requiring cleaning
