The Facilities and Fleet Assistant reports to the Facilities Manager at Sunwest Aviation. This temporary position supports hangars, ramps, parking areas, and infrastructure. Duties include facility inspections, minor repairs, shipping and receiving, vehicle assistance, and safety compliance across commercial aviation operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist daily oversight of hangars, ramps, and parking facilities
Conduct inspections, safety walks, and foreign object debris walks
Supervise custodial, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance activities
Coordinate facilities shipping, receiving, packing, and tracking
Monitor contractors and escalate operational concerns appropriately
Requirements:
High school diploma and relevant trade certificate required
Three years of relevant facilities and fleet experience
Valid driver’s licence with clean abstract required
Heavy equipment qualification or endorsement required for snow removal
Strong troubleshooting, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Bring facilities experience, mechanical aptitude, and safety awareness to support Sunwest Aviation’s Calgary hangars, ramps, and fleet.
