Executive Director

The Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley (HSBV) is a community-based charity with a mission to foster a Bow Valley community where everyone has access to safe, warm shelter and programs that support their needs. HSBV provides a low barrier shelter and programs with the goal to build trust and facilitate individuals' access to the local system of care. We are seeking an Executive Director to join our team and help lead the organization's continued growth and local impact.
The Executive Director for the Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley is responsible for the successful leadership and overall management of the organization in accordance with the strategic direction, and policies set by the Board of Directors. This position reports to the Board of Directors and will oversee and participate in program operations, public relations, and financial management.
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that the organization is operated in compliance with the Government of Canada Charities Directorate, Government of Alberta Societies Act, Municipal Regulatory Bodies, Public Health Department, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Employment Standards Act and other mandated legislative requirements. The Executive Director must present the organization in a professional and respectful manner, and model organizational values for all team members.
