Program Manager - Operations
IDR is seeking a Program Manager - Operations to join one of our top clients in Calgary. This role offers an opportunity to lead and manage R&D operations within a manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization and production scaling. The company specializes in industrial solutions, including thermal management, HVAC, and electromechanical systems, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This is a hybrid-schedule (Calgary, Alberta), direct-hire (permanent) position.
Position Overview for the Program Manager - Operations:- Lead and coordinate R&D operations, ensuring projects progress efficiently from development to production
- Drive process improvement initiatives and support plant expansion efforts from an R&D perspective
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement production-ready processes for new products
- Utilize project management tools and ERP systems to oversee project governance and operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of experience managing R&D operations or technical programs in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to bridge R&D and production, turning new product designs into production-ready processes
- Hands‑on experience in plant operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of PMO processes, project governance, and operational efficiency best practices
