Master Planner

Employment Type: Contract

Length of contract: 6 months

Location: Onsite, Calgary, Alberta

Pay rate: $35 - $50/hr

Citizenship Requirements: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident of Canada

Role Summary

The Master Planner is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Final Assembly Line (FAL) schedule to ensure alignment with operational, material, and capacity requirements. This role requires strong analytical capability, advanced reporting skills, and the ability to clearly communicate pacing items and risks across cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the Master Production Schedule and Final Assembly Line schedule, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with customer and program requirements.
  • Analyze complex end‑to‑end production flows to identify pacing items, bottlenecks, and schedule risks.
  • Produce clear, concise schedule summaries and scenario analyses for leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor material availability, capacity constraints, and execution performance, escalating issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Program teams to drive schedule adherence and on‑time delivery.
  • Maintain and refine planning processes, parameters, and tools within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, flow, and stability.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5-10+ years of experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments (FAL experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP, routings, BOM structures, and capacity planning principles.
  • Proven ability to dissect schedules, identify pacing items, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and analytics skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, formulas, macros preferred).
  • Power BI competency for dashboards and schedule performance reporting (highly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and succinctly.
  • APICS/CPIM certification an asset
