The contractor will be responsible for painting and sandblasting large industrial components, manufacturing equipment, and small parts. This includes all aspects of preparation, setup, masking, spraying with cap guns, finishing, and occasional use of the blast booth. In addition to production work, the role involves assisting with general facility tasks to maintain efficiency and safety. While documentation and inspection are currently overseen by the supervisor, the contractor may be given opportunities to expand into these responsibilities over time, offering potential for growth in quality control and leadership support.

• Perform painting and sandblasting on industrial components, manufacturing equipment, and small parts.
• Conduct all aspects of preparation, setup, masking, and spraying with cap guns.
• Finish painted surfaces and use the blast booth as necessary.
• Assist with general facility tasks to maintain efficiency and safety.
• Potentially expand into documentation and inspection responsibilities for quality control and leadership support.

• 5+ years of industrial painting experience in a shop setting.
• Proficiency in paint prep, spray gun operation, grinding, and sanding.
• Experience with airless spray guns, industrial enamel, and DTM (direct metal paint).
• Ability to perform touch-ups and operate in a paint booth.

• Quality control and checks experience is nice to have.
• Forklift experience, particularly with outdoor sit-down forklifts.
• Experience with sandblasting and crane operation.
• Documentation skills are advantageous.

Located in SE Calgary on Sheppard Road, the shop currently employs approximately 80 trades workers and plans to expand significantly in 2024. The initial shift is from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential early starts at 4:30 AM during busy seasons. Once trained, the position shifts to an afternoon schedule from 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with a $3 shift premium.

Flexibility in scheduling is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
