The Metal Fabrication Labourer plays an important role within the welding and fabrication division, supporting the assembly and preparation of metal components and ensuring materials are ready for welding and finishing. This position works closely with fabrication and welding teams to maintain production flow and high quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities- Read and interpret detailed work instructions and fabrication documentation accurately.
- Prepare and clean metal components, inspecting and verifying quality prior to welding.
- Remove excess metal and prep materials through grinding, beveling, and sanding processes.
- Operate hand tools, cut‑off saws, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Use a gravity‑fed paint gun for component finishing as required.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality, reporting issues as needed.
- Assist welders and fabrication staff with support tasks to ensure production efficiency.
- Participate in routine maintenance of tools and fabrication machinery.
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Training related to manufacturing or metal fabrication is considered an asset.
- Valid forklift license is considered an asset.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Experience supporting welding processes and working in a fabrication shop preferred.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail when working with fabricated components.
- Strong manual dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable operating fabrication tools and equipment.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced shop setting.
- Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute to team success.
$22/hr starting wage
Benefits- Full benefits package included.
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Friday
- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
