Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Line Team Lead. This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production technicians on the manufacturing floor. The Team Lead is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner within all quality parameters and for participation in both the hiring and performance management processes. It reports to the Production Line Supervisor and works closely with the whole Manufacturing Team.

Responsibilities
  • Attains full knowledge of manufacturing floor layout, management structure, product and component knowledge, manufacturing and technical processes, key contacts, HR rules and regulations, employee discipline process, safety compliance, product quality, order processing, inventory control and labeling.
  • Directs the activities of the assigned production area, becomes involved in day‑to‑day management, develops personnel, audits current procedures and creates required SOPs to monitor and improve efficiency and compliance. Drives productivity and fosters continuous improvement.
  • Maximizes production efficiency, achieves targeted raw material usage, and minimizes waste. Identifies and coordinates quick resolution of production process or machinery issues that impact run rates, downtime or quality. Completes all required administrative duties accurately and on time.
  • Maintains quality excellence and minimizes controllable quality issues by monitoring key operating parameters to ensure product specifications, ensuring associates complete required quality checks, reviewing QA audit results and communicating all concerns.
  • Provides leadership and direction to production technicians and holds them accountable for overall performance. Ensures they receive appropriate training and addresses performance issues, including disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Drives and monitors safety compliance, conducts inspections, ensures deficiencies are resolved, completes incident and accident investigations and reports. Adheres to company safety policy, housekeeping and compliance with defined standards.
Who You Are Basic Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and comprehension.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Shift: Monday‑Friday 7 am‑3:30 pm. Future changes may occur.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with electro/mechanical manufacturing preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen) and Six Sigma concepts is very helpful.
Skills
  • Excellent communication, people‑management, and leadership skills.
  • Problem‑solving, assertive, creative, energetic, positive thinker, able to multi‑task, strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required.
