CROWN Metal Packaging Canada LP, Beverage Packaging Division has an opening for a Group Leader for our Front End/Chemical Processing departments. at their manufacturing facility located in the Foothills Industrial Park in Southeast Calgary. This facility manufactures aluminum cans for the beverage industry. This position will perform a variety of mechanical adjustments, maintenance, repairs, installation, and modification of manufacturing equipment for the production and manufacture of aluminum cans of the highest quality.

Other responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the following:

Safety & Quality minded with willingness for excellence required in all aspects of the jobMust keep production lines flowing, make repairs and adjustments to equipment

Understand and follow verbal instructions for completion of assigned tasks

Keeps Production Supervisors/Managers informed of operational status of equipment and production issues

Follows standard operating procedures

Supporting and coaching a team of 3 members

Good communication flow within and between the different teams

Lead and direct work assignments of dayshift mechanics in department

Coordinate and define the different activities within your team, according to the priorities and competences of each person in the team Maintain accurate, updated preventive maintenance records

Preventative Maintenance and Repair - structure, implement and coordinate all P.M.& R. for department equipment

Analyze any and all types of mechanical or operational troubles, plan for and take corrective actions as needed

Managing and ordering of mechanical parts for related equipment

Organize technical training and support to guarantee the expected competence level of your team and the sharing of knowledge and expertise

You co-operate with internal departments such as Operations, Quality and Purchasing Ensures the quality of the performed efforts of your team Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor quality material or supplies noted.

Examine, test and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications (as per Corporate Process Manual) using appropriate gauges and instruments and record data. Check product for visual defects

Analyze spoilage as to cause and where possible take corrective action. Analyze and record comments regarding cause of production delays in log book.

Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures Develop and write Job Hazard Analysis Perform and record Equipment Set-up Evaluations Ensure that all safety equipment, devices and guards are properly used and in place at all times. Follow safe work procedures and safety rules.

Responsible for maintaining the Plants PM&R software program (E-Maintenance). This involves the proofing & creating of Work orders, developing new PM programs into Work orders, and the editing and approving of completed Work orders.

Job Requirements Must have previous experience and knowledge of production equipment and mechanical operations in a manufacturing environment.

Journeyman Millwright certificate ( Red Seal) is a definite asset

Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience

Team Leadership experience

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and independently

Knowledge and work history of focusing on quality and safety in every aspect of the jobAble to effectively manage…
