Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated production operator to become an integral part of our team. This role involves operating automated and extrusion machines, primarily used for manufacturing pipes for the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities   Conduct toolbox meetings focused on safety and daily tasks.
Set up, operate, and shut down manufacturing equipment.
Monitor product quality and make appropriate adjustments.
Enter data into computer systems using database and reporting tools.
Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
Verify raw materials prior to and during the manufacturing process.
Operate forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
Stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Perform operator preventative maintenance.
Support and mentor other operators.
Understand procedures, processes, equipment, and product specifics.
Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
Report any issues to the Lead Operator.
Essential Skills   Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work rotating shifts.

Skills & Qualifications   

Experience with hand tools like screwdrivers.
Proficiency in using power tools such as calipers, drills, measuring tapes, and reciprocating saws.
Forklift and power pallet experience.
Familiarity with measurement equipment like tape measures.

Work Setting  The production facility employs around 60 people with 25-30 per shift. Operators work in a clean environment focusing on safety, requiring steel‑toe boots, ear plugs (provided), and safety glasses (provided). Rotating shifts: first shifts Monday‑Thursday 7am‑7pm; second shifts Monday‑Thursday 7pm‑7am. Overtime required as needed, with compensation for day and night shifts.
Job Type & Location  Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
Pay and Benefits  Pay range $24.00 – $27.00 per hour. Full benefits available through Sun Life upon permanent employment.
