WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Role:
The Manufacturing Test Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the test team, ensuring all testing meets product requirements, production schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations. This role leads team performance, resolves operational issues, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support the successful delivery of rack and row CDU products. The Supervisor also drives training, process improvement, and maintains a safe, positive work environment.
Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor manufacturing test technicians in alignment with company policies.
- Oversee daily end‑of‑line testing activities to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and address operational issues.
- Partner with the Manufacturing Test Manager to plan testing needs and staffing.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support operations.
- Lead daily Tier‑1 meetings and participate in assigned cross‑functional meetings.
- Enforce safety standards, PPE, and LOTO procedures across all test activities.
- Mentor team members in the safe testing of high‑voltage products.
- Ensure compliant handling and disposal of industrial coolants and materials.
- Lead safety training and proactively address hazards and compliance issues.
- Ensure testing and inspections comply with quality standards and SOPs.
- Partner with Manufacturing Test Engineering to refine test processes and reporting.
- Support testing strategies for new and existing products.
- Drive Lean initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Oversee assembly and testing of subassemblies and finished products.
- Coordinate workflow and task assignments to meet production targets.
- Monitor tool and equipment usage and optimize assembly processes.
- Support prototype and production builds, ensuring mechanical and electrical integration.
- Maintain accurate test, quality, and safety metrics.
- Prepare regular performance reports and track defects and corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Supervise testing involving fluids, gases, and pressure systems.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ensure materials availability, proper storage, and inventory accuracy.
- Verify final inspections, packaging accuracy, and shipping readiness.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Electro‑Mechanical Testing.
- 2-3 years of previous supervisory or leadership experience in a production setting.
- Strong understanding of testing techniques, mechanical and electrical components, and quality control standards.
- Familiarity with IPC-610/620 Standards, Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MRP systems.
- Accreditation of P.Eng with APEGA or CET with ASET.
- Experience working with testing and troubleshooting high‑voltage products, or similar electro‑mechanical assemblies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve testing and quality issues with VFDs, Pump and CDU based products.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs) occasionally, up to 10 kg frequently.
