Position Description
The PRIMA/SNB Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining sheet‑metal fabrication equipment, including shearing, notching, and bending machines, to produce high‑precision components for heating and cooling systems. This role requires accurately reading and interpreting technical drawings, verifying parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards, performing routine inspections, and consistently adhering to workplace safety policies and procedures.
Afternoon Shift : 3:00PM-11:30PM - Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and adjust PRIMA sheet‑metal fabrication equipment, including shearing, notching, and bending machines
- Manufacture precision sheet‑metal components for heating and cooling systems in accordance with production schedules
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerances
- Perform inspections to verify parts meet quality and print specifications
- Monitor machine performance, make minor adjustments, and report equipment issues or malfunctions
- Accurately measure parts using gauges, calipers, and other inspection tools
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and regulatory safety standards
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control requirements
- Identify defects or non‑conforming materials and communicate concerns to supervisors or quality personnel
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Post‑secondary education or technical training in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or machining is an asset - Previous experience operating PRIMA or similar sheet‑metal fabrication equipment (shearing, notching, bending) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality standards
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe machine operation
- Ability to perform routine inspections and identify defects or non‑conforming parts
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet production deadlines
