Shipper/Receiver
About the Role
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for accurate receiving, tracking, storage, packaging, and shipment of materials and products. This role ensures all incoming and outgoing goods are processed efficiently, shipping documentation and customs forms are completed correctly, inventory records are maintained, and shipments are prepared in accordance with company and safety requirements. The position works closely with internal departments to resolve shipping issues, track deliveries, and support the smooth flow of materials throughout the organization.
Responsibilities- Log received goods and transfer to appropriate department, maintain internal record-keeping system
- Complete forms for US Customs Clearance
- Prepare bills of landing, invoices and other shipping documents
- Organize goods/ merchandise received into stock or inventory
- Verify and record incoming and outgoing materials sent
- Confer with production, sales or other departments to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipment
- Record movement of product via computerized database system
- Package/ prepare orders for shipment, including assembling containers and crates
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers
- Wrap, tie, or place material in envelopes, boxes or other products for shipment
- Handle delayed shipments or damaged goods
- Refer to WHMIS/ MSDS for secure handling of product
- Other duties as assigned
Completion of High School
Skills / Requirements- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Problem solving, decision making, planning and organization skills
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Willing to work overtime if required
