Role Responsibilities
- Safe and Efficient Operation of Boilers (starting, stopping and running) to maintain steam demands for production and heating requirements
- Safe and Efficient Operation of the Heating Boiler and associated heating system components. This includes operation of the steam heating system for the South Warehouses
- Water Treatment:
Operate and regenerate boiler feed water (Softeners, Reverse Osmosis, etc.) Dose boiler feed water chemicals Dose cooling system and ensure chlorine injection system functioning properly; ensure chlorine drums are changed as required and replacements ordered Operate the Reverse Osmosis (RO Unit) and Carbon Filters as required to meet blending water requirements of the Tankhouse Conduct water analysis and log for feed water, condensate, cooling water, R.O. unit and demineralizer - Operate air compressors and air dryers to meet plant requirements as air demand fluctuates and log performance
- Perform routine maintenance and lubrication of all equipment in steam plant operation
- Perform Shutdown Inspections and routine P.M.’s/Maintenance of all equipment in steam plant operation
- Monitor utility usage by logging and updating daily natural gas consumption
- Reporting, administration, record keeping and issuing of work permits required in the steamplant
- Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and process
- Act in accordance with the Suntory MONOZUKURI Values
- Be actively involved with improvements and root cause problem solving
- Complete 5S Audits and follow-up duties as required
- Participate in daily ‘huddles’, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions
- Other duties as assigned
- Grade 12
- Third Class Operating Certificate of competency from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association
- Previous exposure to package boilers and auxiliary equipment
- Previous Food and Beverage production experience preferred
- Process Control System experience an asset
- Proficient with computer systems and industrial control interfaces
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continuous improvement programs is a requirement of the job.
Able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb stairs and catwalks, work at heights and in confined spaces, work 10- or 12-hour shifts independently, handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
